Use the variables SW, SB, and Family from the dataset carnivora contained within the library ape throughout. The variable SW stands for body weight (kilograms) of adults of the order Carnivora. The variable SB stands for brain weight (grams) of adults of the order Carnivora. The variable Family records the family from which each observation comes.

Use the function ggplot contained within the library tidyverse to make plots. See the lecture on Plotting Data for hints.

Please submit a folder containing your Quarto input (qmd) and output (html) documents for this lab, named Lab01, to our shared Google Drive folder when you are finished.

  1. Make a bar chart of an appropriate variable. Explain one interesting aspect of your bar chart.

  2. Make a histogram of an appropriate variable. Describe two interesting aspects of this plot.

  3. Make a scatter plot of appropriate variables. Describe one interesting aspect of this plot.

  4. Make a scatter plot where the color of the points varies by an appropriate variable. Describe one interesting aspect of this plot.

  5. Challenge, if you have time. Make multiple histograms split by an appropriate variable. Describe at least one interesting thing about this plot.
